Licab

Licab (Lithium Carbonate) is a psychiatric medicine which works by affecting sodium transport in the nerve cells. Indications include manic episodes or maintenance in patients with bipolar disorder (manic depression), depression and other related disorders. Medical research has pointed to the fact that it can affect the metabolism of substances called catecholamines in the brain, which may be how it benefits the mood. In some cases, physicians may use it to treat patients affected by other medical conditions not listed here.

Licab (Lithium Carbonate) tablets contain 300mg of the active ingredient. Deciding the correct dosage is a delicate process, and your physician will need to regularly monitor your serum lithium levels to ensure that lithium toxicity does not occur. Adjustments to the daily dosage may also be ordered by your physician at any time during treatment and it is essential that you fully comply with all directions given to you. You must not take more than the dosage that your physician tells you to take.

• Acne
• Changes in taste
• Slightly shaky hands
• Pruritis affecting the skin
• Dry hair or slight hair loss
